Non-Perishable Food Items Accepted at Chapel Hill Store in Support of FoodWell Food Pantry at UNC Health through March 29

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.  – Carolina Athletics and corporate partner Wegmans announce the launch of “Fill the Pantry” – a new initiative to benefit the FoodWell food pantry at UNC Health, which serves to support patients and their families.

Tar Heel fans and area residents are encouraged to help “Fill the Pantry” by donating non-perishable food items accepted at Wegmans’ Chapel Hill store at 1810 Fordham Blvd. The food drive runs through March 29 for in-store donations in marked cans. Items also may be donated on Saturday, April 15 during the Spring UNC football game at Kenan Memorial Stadium.

“Wegmans is devoted to being a good neighbor in every community we serve. Our partnership with UNC allows us to do just that,” said Kathy Haines, Chapel Hill store manager. “We are working together to address food insecurities right here in the Chapel Hill area. It has been a pleasure to work with the staff at UNC to coordinate the Fill the Pantry food drive.”
