IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference, which will host its 2021 Football Media Days presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors, July 14-15, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, adds Kid Reporter program to this year’s two-day event.

Sponsored by Academy Sports + Outdoors, the program will provide students from St. Philip’s School and Community Center in Dallas with hands-on experience conducting and producing interviews with Big 12 players and coaches.

“The Big 12 Conference is pleased to extend its relationship with Academy Sports + Outdoors, and St. Philip’s to create this opportunity for the next generation of reporters and videographers to gain real-world experience,” commented Edward Stewart, Big 12 Executive Associate Commissioner for Football. “Building upon the foundation previously established through a Big 12 Conference sponsored makeover of the St. Philip’s Academy media center in partnership with the College Football Playoff Foundation, and serving as host site for the 2018 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Media Day, this opportunity is the next step in furthering our relationship with such an invaluable member of the South Dallas community.  Our member institutions could not be more appreciative to Academy Sports + Outdoors for providing this opportunity.”

While on-site, the Kid Reporters will receive a behind-the-scenes look of the elements involved with staging this season-preview event, along with educational sessions with media members. Coaches and two student-athletes from Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, TCU and West Virginia highlight day one; with. Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech rounding out the second day.

Content created by the St. Philips School and Community Center Kid Reporters will be shared across official Big 12 Conference and Academy Sports + Outdoors social media platforms.

Complementing the on-the-ground opportunity for these grade-level students to participate in the Conference’s season preview event, Academy Sports + Outdoors will be providing store products to St. Philip’s in addition to a $5,000 donation to the school.

Big 12 Sports Properties is the Learfield IMG College team dedicated to the Conference as its sponsorship rights holder and oversees the relationship with Academy Sports + Outdoors.
