RIMI to Support Friars’ “Stand Up to Cancer” Game vs. Seton Hall, February 15

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence Friars Sports Properties, the Friars’ multimedia rightsholder, is pleased to announce that Rhode Island Medial Imaging (RIMI) and Providence College are extending and expanding their relationship.

The most notable component of RIMI’s extended relationship with the Friars allows RIMI to serve as presenting sponsor for the “Stand Up to Cancer” men’s basketball game on Saturday, February 15, when Providence College hosts Seton Hall at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The game tips off at 8 p.m. and will have a strong focus on raising cancer awareness.

Prior to the game as fans enter through the main lobby and into the arena, they will be encouraged to fill out a “Stand Up to Cancer” sign that will allow them the opportunity to recognize someone in their fight against cancer during the game. This acknowledgment will be complemented by a thoughtful in-game presentation along with other engaging moments throughout the evening.

“RIMI is proud to partner with Providence College and its ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ game’,” said Dana Alexander Nolfe, Chief Marketing Officer, RIMI. “According to the American Cancer Society, there will be 2,120 cancer deaths in Rhode Island this year. Raising awareness is one way we can all work together to keep that number down.”

Providence College Vice President and Athletic Director Bob Driscoll added, “We’re grateful for the continued support from Rhode Island Medical Imaging and their desire to back the Friars on an even deeper level. Our ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ game is a special evening for our fans during basketball season, and we will continue to ensure it remains thoughtful and considerate for all who attend.”
