TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Learfield Sports’ Sycamores Sports Properties, announced today a two-year extension with Midwest Communications, calling for WDKE 95.9 Duke FM and WIBQ News Talk 1230 AM to carry the Sycamores game action and coaches’ shows as Terre Haute flagship stations.
Beginning this season, fans will be able to hear Indiana State football and men’s basketball games on WDKE. The new home for women’s basketball, baseball and coaches’ shows will be WIBQ.
“We’re pleased to have the opportunity to continue our relationship with the Sycamores and believe fans in the Terre Haute market will quickly embrace the coverage on our two select stations, WDKE and WIBQ,” said Midwest Communications’ Market Manager Amy Dillion.
“We are excited to participate in this outstanding partnership with Midwest Communications,” commented Indiana State Athletics Director Ron Prettyman. “Midwest Communications is highly respected in our region, and Sycamore Athletics is pleased to have them as our flagship radio partner. WDKE, WIBQ and Sycamore Athletics will all reflect a high level of excellence.”
“Midwest Communications has been a terrific radio partner, and we look forward to extending our relationship,” said Sycamores Sports Properties’ General Manager Mike Shayotovich. “We think very quickly Indiana State fans will remember to visit 95.9 FM and 1230 AM for game action and coaches’ shows. Midwest Communications’ cluster of stations will allow for numerous promotions to help boost the Sycamore brand, and we’re pleased about those synergies as well.”
