As part of its relationship with University of Akron Athletics, PSI Solutions, an ESS Company, is teaming up with women’s basketball player, Lanae Riley, through a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partnership to highlight the experience of working in a school health clinic and to advocate for nursing careers in educational settings post-college graduation.

PSI has been a trusted partner in education and health for over 45 years, providing support services to schools and communities across the state of Ohio and beyond. PSI invites all members of the community to join them in raising the power of education by supporting the Zips and Lanae Riley,

Riley is a sophomore forward for the Zips, a nursing major, and a graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School – a PSI client. Currently, Riley averages 9.1 points per game in 25 games for UA. Aiding in her scoring efforts is Riley’s ability to shoot from beyond the three-point line.  She has gone 26-for-61 (.426) from three, which is third-most on the team. Due to Riley’s success shooting from a distance, for every three-point basket Riley makes during the 2023-24 season, PSI will donate health supplies and/or funds to some of their local partner schools.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with PSI because I can do what I love, help people! This partnership allows me to work with and be around kids. Being a nurse is something that I have always dreamed of,” said Riley. “With this partnership, I can explore different career options while using my nursing degree. I am excited to gain more experience in different aspects of the nursing field and make an impact on the schools that I will visit.”

Additionally, Riley and members of the PSI team will visit a variety of PSI schools to showcase what it means to work in a school health clinic, highlight the impact a PSI employee can have on a school community, and promote opportunities for jobs for future nurses navigating the beginning of their careers.

“PSI is thrilled to partner with Lanae Riley of the University of Akron Women’s Basketball team,” said Meredith Sitko, Executive Vice President of PSI. “This is the perfect opportunity to showcase our services to the next generation of nurses through a bright young woman and a future nurse who will soon be making an impact on people’s lives. We cannot wait to have Lanae visit Archbishop Hoban to truly experience what it’s like to be a part of the PSI team, raise awareness of the work we do, as well as be able to give back to our communities’ schools through this creative initiative.”

“At PSI, we were very strategic in our decision to enter the NIL space. We knew that working with student-athletes to promote job opportunities and overall awareness of PSI could help us with our early talent recruiting,” said Jacob Farrar, Director, University Relations & Talent Acquisition. “PSI was looking for student-athletes enrolled in relevant majors to the services we provide in schools, have outstanding records in the classroom and on the court, and with an outgoing personality with a passion for their future career field. As a bonus, we would want someone who attended one of our partners schools in Ohio. We are lucky to find Lanae – she possesses all of these.”

PSI’s sponsor relationship with University of Akron Athletics is managed by athletics multimedia rightsholder Akron Sport Properties, the locally-based team of Learfield – the media and technology company powering college sports. Akron Sports Properties, which does not represent the student-athletes themselves, collaborates with corporate partners to maximize their sponsorship agreements with the inclusion of NIL programs and the integration of the university’s marks and logos as part of those programs.
