Schooner All-American Ale to be the Official Craft Beer of OU Athletics

NORMAN, OKLA. – Heading into the 2023-24 athletics year, OU fans across the state will be able to enjoy an officially licensed, premium craft beer made exclusively for Sooners supporters. OU Athletics, its multimedia rights holder, LEARFIELD’s Sooner Sports Properties and licensing agent CLC announced today that they have partnered with Oklahoma craft brewery COOP Ale Works to make Schooner All-American Ale, the Official Craft Beer of OU Athletics.

“We are excited to see OU Athletics come together with COOP Ale Works to offer fans a specially branded craft beer,” said Kelly Collyar, Vice President and General Manager of Sooner Sports Properties. “From the start, this has been a collaborative effort between OU Athletics and COOP’s creative teams to bring this idea to life, down to every last detail. We can’t wait to see fans all over the state enjoying Schooner All-American Ale this fall.”

Named after the iconic Sooner Schooner, the Conestoga wagon that races across Owen Field following a score by the OU football team, Schooner All-American Ale is a traditional blonde ale with a 4.7% ABV that serves as OU’s first-ever craft beer offering. Developed to be a fully flavored beer with a light body, this enticing new ale can be enjoyed at The Palace on The Prairie, throughout OU Athletics events and tailgates in Norman or one of many legendary local bars while fans cheer on their Sooners.

“COOP Ale Works is extremely proud to produce a product that can both enhance the game day experience and offer fans a way to show their OU pride” said Ryan Stump, VP of Business Operations for COOP Ale Works. “Our desire was to develop a product that stayed true to the tradition of Oklahoma while looking forward to new horizons and opportunities. Schooner All-American Ale does just that.”

In addition to being available for game days in Norman, Sooner fans across the state of Oklahoma can purchase Schooner All-American Ale year-round at select retailers in single-serve 16-ounce cans, 6-pack 12-ounce cans and 12-pack 12-ounce cans.

Schooner All-American Ale will be available in the market starting Aug. 21. It will also be available for purchase at OU Athletics events beginning Saturday, Sept. 2 when the Sooner football team hosts Arkansas State to kick off the season, as well as at Party at the Palace before the game.
