DALLAS, Texas. – LEARFIELD, the athletics multimedia rightsholder for SMU, has appointed Kevin Farlow the new general manager of Mustang Sports Properties.

Farlow, a LEARFIELD veteran, brings more than 20 years of sports marketing, sponsorship and sales experience to the Mustang Sports Properties team. Most recently, he served as general manager for LEARFIELD’s dedicated Big 12 Sports Properties team in Dallas. As Mustang Sports Properties’ general manager, Farlow will serve as the primary LEARFIELD liaison related to SMU’s comprehensive athletics multimedia rights agreement and corporate platform. He will work closely with the athletics administration and Director of Athletics Rick Hart on all aspects of LEARFIELD’s relationship.

“We have a strong relationship with LEARFIELD and we’re happy to have Kevin Farlow join SMU Athletics as general manager of Mustang Sports Properties,” said Hart. “He comes to SMU with extensive experience, and we know he will be a valuable addition to our team.”

Prior to his time with the Big 12, Farlow served as interim general manager in New Mexico with Lobo Sports Properties, LEARFIELD’s team dedicated to the University of New Mexico.  His early career also included stops with IMG College and Ultimate Fighting Championship. Additionally, Farlow served as LEARFIED’s senior director of business development, national sales in Dallas and general manager at Hurricane Sports Properties in Miami. Farlow received his marketing degree from Westmar University.
