BURLINGTON, Vt. – University of Vermont Athletics and corporate partner McGee Automotive Family announced that Andrea Loew, a sophomore and member of the UVM Cheer team, has won McGee’s inaugural social media enter-to-win campaign during basketball season.
The Hanover, Massachusetts-based car dealership is the presenting sponsor of UVM men’s basketball. As part of its multi-year sponsorship agreement with UVM Athletics’ multimedia rightsholder, LEARFIELD’s Vermont Sports Properties, McGee Automotive Family will be hosting a social media enter-to-win campaign for three consecutive years.
Loew, the first winner of McGee Automotive Family’s campaign, was awarded a $15,000 scholarship. There will be a winner following the 2023-24 and 2024-25 men’s basketball seasons as well.
“Our brand partners are core to many of our initiatives, and we appreciate McGee’s support of our athletics programming and serving as presenting sponsor of Catamount men’s basketball,” said Director of Athletics Jeff Schulman. “When our sponsors do something innovative and unique to draw in the entire student body, like this enter-to-win campaign, it creates great engagement and resonates well. Congratulations to Andrea!”
According to Keith Pinto, VP of Marketing for McGee Automotive Family, “It was exciting to roll out this promotion during the UVM men’s basketball season, and we are proud to align our brand with the Catamounts. It is important for us to give back to the community in which we serve, and we’re just as proud to incorporate a scholarship component within our sponsorship. We’re thrilled for Andrea, who can put the $15,000 directly toward her junior year, and we look forward to tipping off again next year. Stay tuned for the announcement of next season’s exciting campaign.”
