1010XL becomes official broadcast home for Florida football, men’s basketball and baseball’s SEC games in Jacksonville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida football, men’s basketball and conference baseball games have a new radio home in Jacksonville as 1010XL Jax Sports Radio will be the new hub for the Gators, the University Athletic Association and Florida Gators Sports Properties announced Friday morning.

All football and men’s basketball games will be carried on 1010XL along with baseball’s SEC contests and its matchups with Florida State. All Gator Talk shows will also air on 1010XL.

“We are excited to partner with 1010 XL to bring Gator athletics to the First Coast airwaves,” said Athletics Director Scott Stricklin. “We have a large passionate fan base in the listening area who can now follow all of our football, basketball and conference baseball games on the premier sports talk radio station in Jacksonville.”

1010XL listeners will hear from several Gators Friday throughout the station’s regularly scheduled programing, including Stricklin, Florida’s legendary coach Steve Spurrier, Football Head Coach Dan Mullen, Voice of the Gators Mick Hubert and former Athletics Director Jeremy Foley, among others.

1010XL is the flagship station of the Jacksonville Jaguars and is the city’s top stop for sports talk radio with popular shows such as the Frank Frangie Show, the Drill, Jaguars Today and XL Primetime.

“We are thrilled to add University of Florida athletics to our all-star play-by-play lineup,” 1010XL/92.5 FM President and General Manager Steven Griffin said. “As the proud flagship station of the Jaguars, it only made sense to add the Gators, whose heritage and incredible following in our area and statewide is second to none among college programs.”

Florida’s shift from 930WFXJ to 1010XL went into effect this past weekend as last Saturday’s baseball game at Tennessee was the first Gators event to air on its new home. In addition to its 1010 location on the AM dial, 1010XL is simulcast on 92.5WJXL-FM.

Florida Gators Sports Properties is the locally based team for Learfield IMG College, the Gators’ multimedia rightsholder.
