Longstanding relationship extended for an additional five years under new agreement

AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts is proud to announce, in conjunction with its athletics multimedia rights holder, Learfield’s UMass Sports Properties, a new exclusive five-year flagship radio partnership with Entercom’s WEEI 105.5 FM (WWEI-FM) based out of Springfield, Mass.

Concurrent with the start of the 2018-19 collegiate athletics season, the renewed relationship calls for WEEI to carry all UMass football and men’s basketball games as well as other departmental programming through June 2023.

“UMass Athletics has become part of the fabric of WEEI,” said Mark Hannon, Regional President, Entercom Boston. “We have a deep commitment to collegiate athletics across the WEEI Radio Network and are excited to continue our long-standing partnership as the flagship station for UMass Athletics.”

“We have a strong partnership history with WEEI that has produced tremendous value as our flagship radio home for UMass football and basketball,” said Director of Athletics Ryan Bamford. “The commitment of UMass alum David Oldread and WEEI’s desire to advance and expand the UMass athletics brand in this region are significant contributions to this partnership. We look forward to working closely with WEEI to further develop our market assets heading into what we know will be a momentous future for UMass athletics.”

UMass and WEEI originally partnered in 2012 during the Minutemen’s inaugural Football Bowl Subdivision campaign.

Listeners can tune in to WEEI (WWEI-FM) in Springfield on-air, as well as nationwide on the Radio.com app. Fans can also connect with the station on social media via TwitterFacebook and Instagram.

WEEI is a Radio.com station. Radio.com is a part of Entercom, a leading American media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the country.
