This marks the first collegiate on-field logo sponsorship at a female-only, outdoor sports venue
NORMAN, Okla. (March 7, 2025) — The University of Oklahoma, SONIC® Drive-In and Learfield’s Sooner Sports Properties announce a landmark sponsorship to see the SONIC logo prominently featured on Love’s Field, home of the No. 1 Oklahoma Softball team. This enhanced partnership makes Oklahoma the first college athletics program to feature an on-field logo sponsorship at a female-only, outdoor sports venue.
The multi-year deal will see the SONIC logo painted on both the first and third baselines of OU’s Love’s Field. The logo debuts today during the SEC opener against South Carolina.
“We’re thrilled to enter into this historic partnership with SONIC and showcase its brand alongside Oklahoma Softball,” said OU Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione. “Oklahoma Softball is a powerhouse program with a storied history of success, and this agreement will enhance our ability to continue building on that legacy. SONIC’s support of our student-athletes and commitment to the state of Oklahoma makes this partnership even more special.”
SONIC will gain extensive visibility through its logo’s placement on the field, in television broadcasts and across digital platforms during all home games. Additionally, as part of the partnership, SONIC will support Name, Image, Likeness opportunities for OU Softball student-athletes.
“It’s important to SONIC to be a good neighbor in our community and be involved in education and athletics across the state. We are incredibly proud to support Oklahoma Softball and continue to strengthen our relationship with the University of Oklahoma,” said Leah Fogel, Integrated Marketing Communications Manager at SONIC. “Oklahoma’s softball team exemplifies a lot of the characteristics that we try to bring to our SONIC culture every day, and this partnership gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate the success of one of the most dominant teams in college softball. We’re excited to see our logo on the field where so much excellence takes place.”
SONIC has been an official Quick Service Restaurant sponsor of Sooner Sports since Summer 2024, the brand also serves as the official T-shirt toss sponsor for a wide array of Sooners athletics programs, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, men’s and women’s gymnastics, baseball and softball.
