RALEIGH, N.C. – Learfield, NC State Athletics’ collegiate multimedia rights partner, today introduced Kyle Winchester as general manager to lead its Raleigh-based Wolfpack Sports Properties team dedicated to NC State.

Winchester, a seasoned sports marketer, relocates to Raleigh from Tampa, Fla., where he held the same role for University of South Florida’s rights partner, IMG College. In his combined nearly 11 years with IMG, he also served as general manager at University of Central Florida, and before that, over eight years as associate general manager at Virginia Tech.

Winchester will manage Learfield’s Wolfpack Sports Properties and work alongside NC State’s Athletic Department as the team oversees the university’s comprehensive athletics rights which include signage, television, radio, digital and the corporate partner program. His predecessor, Tim Utrup, was promoted to a Learfield vice president position in January to oversee select collegiate relationships in the company’s South Region structure.

“We are excited that Kyle brings over a decade of collegiate sales and marketing experience, as well as a successful track record in sponsorship fulfillment and management at this level to our property. We expect he will be a strong fit as he transitions to NC State and continues to build on what the Wolfpack Sports Properties team has already accomplished,” said Chris Boyer, NC State’s Deputy AD for External Operations. “Our entire administration welcomes Kyle to NC State as we continue to build and strengthen our valued partnership with Learfield.”

“Through our national search, Kyle stood out as a leader in our space having done outstanding work at other universities and earning top corporate awards. We’re excited to have him lead our team in Raleigh,” said Learfield Senior Vice President Pat Fagan.

An industry leader for more than four decades, Learfield has a deep presence in the college athletics landscape nationwide. In addition to NC State, it manages the multimedia and sponsorship rights for more than 120 collegiate institutions, conferences and arenas, and supports athletic departments at all competitive levels as title sponsor of the prestigious Learfield Directors’ Cup. Learfield also provides its collegiate partners access to professional concessions and ticket sales; branding, licensing and trademark consulting; digital and social platform expertise; campus-wide business and sponsorship development; and venue and technology systems through its affiliated companies.
