BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Marking a first-of-its-kind, Lehigh University Athletics and PSECU announced today a multi-year agreement that provides one of the largest credit unions in Pennsylvania significant visibility and branding opportunities with the Mountain Hawks through the 2020-21 athletic season.
Mostly notably, PSECU will adopt the “Official Credit Union of Lehigh Athletics” designation through the relationship term. It also will receive LED signage inside Stabler Arena, home to Mountain Hawks basketball; and scoreboard signage inside Goodman Stadium, home to Mountain Hawks football. Additional corporate benefits will provide PSECU digital, radio and television exposure, use of marks and primary sponsorship of the Mountain Hawks Rewards app.
“This brand-new association with PSECU is tremendous, and we couldn’t be more pleased to align with their team,” said Lehigh’s Director of Athletics Joe Sterrett. “We’re grateful for the support of the many businesses and companies that back the Mountain Hawks, our campus community and our programming, and we’re proud to add PSECU to our corporate partner family.”
Lehigh Athletics’ exclusive multimedia rights holder, Learfield’s Mountain Hawks Sports Properties, secured the relationship on behalf of the university. Additional benefits for PSECU include having the opportunity to interact with Mountain Hawks’ fans at various athletic events throughout the year, and having their branded ATM machines placed in select on-campus athletic facilities.
“This is exciting news for us, to be able to partner with Lehigh Athletics for what we consider to be a ground-breaking relationship for both of us,” said Barb Bowker, Vice President of Marketing & Membership Development for PSECU, which serves more than 400,000 members. “The Mountain Hawks have an outstanding history and brand. We’re looking forward to our new relationship as it will offer us enhanced opportunities to become immersed in the communities we serve and extend our outreach to the students, alumni, faculty, and staff of Lehigh University.”
“We have a deep respect for Joe, and he and his administration have been outstanding partners as we have together thoroughly navigated the various components of this partnership to ensure it’s as comprehensive and mutually beneficial as possible,” said Learfield Vice President Keith Bradshaw. “We see incredible value in adding an established brand such as PSECU to the Mountain Hawks corporate partner family and recognize the countless opportunities that exist as the relationship grows and matures. We’re excited about the significance of this relationship for Lehigh.”
