Louisville, KY (December 14, 2009) – The Louisville Arena Sports and Entertainment Properties (LASEP) today announced it has secured several additional partners with total new sponsorships. LASEP is the locally based entity of Learfield Sports which oversees the arena’s advertising and sponsorship sales initiatives.

The announcement of the following new sponsors was made at the Louisville Arena Authority (LAA) Board Meeting:

McDonalds Restaurants of Kentuckiana Co-op and Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. both signed a sponsorship with McDonald’s becoming “The Official Fast Food Partner of the Arena for Burgers and Fries” and Coca-Cola becoming “The Official Soft Drink of the Arena.”

The Galt House Hotel becomes “The Official Hotel Partner of the Arena.”

The Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen™ becomes “The Official Ice Cream and Preferred Dessert Provider for the Arena.”

“Thanks to the good work of LASEP and the community’s excitement about the Louisville arena, exceptional corporate partners are coming on board,” said Jim Host, Chair of the Louisville Arena Authority. “LASEP is in negotiations with several others and we hope to have more announcements soon.”

“The Corporate Community has continuously demonstrated its commitment to supporting projects such as the Arena,” said Lynn Saltzman, General Manager of LASEP. “The Arena is dedicated to providing innovative and valuable Marketing Solutions. These local companies symbolize the spirit of this community.”

As announced previously, Norton Healthcare became the first Cornerstone Partner and incorporated a Norton Immediate Care Center open to the public year round via an exterior entrance off the arena plaza. Norton will also operate two permanent Norton-branded first aid stations inside the arena for all University of Louisville games and additional arena entertainment events.

Additional Cornerstone Partners are Hilliard Lyons and Stock Yards Bank & Trust, comprising the “Financial Category,” as well as Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI).

“Sports and community support are a part of the McDonald’s culture and we’re happy to be a part of this important project,” said Steve Stratton, McDonald’s of Kentuckiana Co-Op President. “This partnership will extend the excitement of the arena to our restaurants so that we can help ensure that the community is saying ‘I’m Lovin it’ when the arena opens.”

“Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. is very happy to partner with the Louisville Arena Authority and become the “Official Soft Drink of the Arena,” said Roy Potts, Public Affairs and Communications Manager for Coca-Cola. To encourage recycling of bottles at the new Arena, Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc will be providing recycling bins as part of their commitment to recycling and sustainable packaging. Arena visitors will be able to recycle their beverage containers in these receptacles, which will be placed throughout the facility. Our used packaging materials are valuable resources that can be reused to manufacture new products. We’re excited to have an opportunity to partner with the Louisville arena,” said Potts

“The Galt House Hotel couldn’t be more excited about our partnership with our new, next-door neighbor,” said Mary Moseley, President and CEO of The Al J. Schneider Co. “More than three decades ago my father believed strongly that our city’s future vitality would be closely tied to a return to our city’s waterfront founding. This is why I am proud to announce our company’s support of such an important endeavor for our city and state. The new arena is yet another jewel in the heart of downtown Louisville, and the Galt House is proud to now be the official hotel partner of what will be the nation’s finest facility of its kind for sports, concert and meeting/convention events.”

“The Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen has been Louisville’s number one and largest ice cream and bakery shop for over 24 years,” said its owner, Adam Burckle. “The Pie Kitchen is very excited to partner with the Louisville Arena Authority in providing the Louisville community with premium desserts and fresh churned ice cream for all of the events at the new arena. Out-of-town guests to the arena will now be able to experience many of the great desserts and ice creams Louisville and the Pie Kitchen are known for.
