COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Athletics and Learfield today announced St. Louis-based World Wide Technology (WWT) as the new jersey patch partner of Mizzou Basketball. This expands upon WWT’s existing innovative relationship with Mizzou as the University’s Official Technology Solutions Partner of Athletics.
As part of the partnership , the WWT brand mark will be featured on the uniforms of both men’s and women’s Tiger basketball programs beginning this fall. WWT’s logo will also appear on Norm Stewart Court at Mizzou Arena as part of the university’s expanded partnership with the St. Louis company.
“We are proud to welcome World Wide Technology as a partner of Mizzou Athletics and Mizzou Basketball,” said Laird Veatch, Mizzou Director of Athletics. “WWT’s founder and chairman David Steward, its co-founder and CEO Jim Kavanaugh and their team have built an extraordinary company with a global reach and deep Missouri roots. When you have the opportunity to partner with a brand of WWT’s caliber, you put them at the top of your draft board. WWT’s investment in our basketball programs demonstrates a strong belief in Mizzou and our commitment to competing for championships. “Missouri is home, and World Wide Technology is blessed and honored to support the institutions and people who make our state special,” said Steward, WWT’s founder and chairman. “Mizzou Basketball brings people together and represents the competitive spirit, grit and determination that define our state. We believe in investing in young people and creating opportunities for them to achieve their God-given potential. Supporting Mizzou Basketball is another way we can give back to our home state and encourage the next generation of leaders on and off the court.”
“World Wide Technology is an outstanding example of what can be accomplished through vision and teamwork. I have really appreciated my relationship with Mr. Steward over the years and know how much he values giving back to the community,” Mizzou’s Whitten Family Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dennis Gates said. “He has continually demonstrated that with his exceptional work with the Steward Family Foundation and with his partnership at Mizzou. We’re grateful for Mr. Steward’s support and friendship as we continue to build a championship program in Columbia.”
“We’re so grateful for World Wide Technology’s investment in Mizzou and Mr. Steward’s belief in our programs and student-athletes,” Mizzou Women’s Basketball coach Kellie Harper said. “Having a Missouri-based technology company with WWT’s reputation and history support our team is incredibly exciting, and we’re proud to represent this university and our state together.”
The sponsorship with World Wide Technology was created with Mizzou Athletics in collaboration with Learfield’s Mizzou Sports Properties.
“World Wide Technology is a natural fit for this opportunity. As a Missouri-based industry leader with deep ties to Mizzou, WWT shares a commitment to excellence, innovation and elevating the student-athlete experience,” said Josh Pell, General Manager of Mizzou Sports Properties. “We’re proud to work alongside Mizzou Athletics to bring WWT’s brand to the forefront of Mizzou Basketball and create meaningful connections with Tiger fans.”
