LEARFIELD has joined industry-leading RECUR to drive the creation of collegiate digital products and collectible college sports NFTs. In addition to school multimedia category sponsorships for NFTs, fans will soon enjoy NFT commemorative tickets through Paciolan, integration with official athletic websites and apps built by SIDEARM Sports, and other innovations. RECUR’s coming marketplace, NFTU.com, launching March 14, 2022, will be the premier destination for college sports fans interested in NFTs.
With CLC, RECUR has relationships with more universities than any other college sports NFT provider. RECUR selected the COMPASS NIL (name, image, likeness) platform to manage individual college athlete opt-in for its NFT opportunities. Student-athlete NIL sponsorships and NFTs can use school intellectual property (IP) and school sponsorships through LEARFIELD Allied at participating schools.
The demand for college sports NFT memorabilia and media continues to grow. Deloitte Global predicts that NFTs for sports media will generate more than $2 billion in transactions in 2022, about double that of 2021. They expect four to five million sports fans worldwide will own an NFT sports collectible by the end of 2022.
LEARFIELD continues to bring cutting-edge technology and innovation to our partners in college sports, enabling new forms of fan engagement.
