Job Purpose: Under the general supervision of the Director of Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations, this person is responsible for the installation, system management and operation of all server hardware and software. The Systems Engineer works as part of the IT team to maintain all assets, applications and services assigned.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide resolution of technical support issues.
  • Assist in the maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting the physical and virtual server infrastructure
  • Create, modify, and delete user accounts across multiple platforms, including Active Directory, O365, and local storage devices
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot Windows desktop and server environment.
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot network-based services: File and Print services, Email, Active Directory, DHCP/DNS/WINS
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot company backup solutions, perform test restores to ensure functionality
  • Provide Tier 3 support for customers and technical staff
  • Work with vendors in the process of troubleshooting escalated incidents
  • Work with Senior Systems Administrators implementing new technologies
  • Assist in the maintaining of various web sites, including WordPress and SharePoint

 

Job Specifications/Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Server 2016 and 2019, Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and LAPS, and Windows 10.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft O365 and Azure.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerShell Scripting.
  • Working knowledge of MS Hyper-V and/or VMware.
  • Working knowledge of Citrix XenApp.
  • Working knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architecture.
  • Working knowledge of monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Develop effective working relationships with customers, co-workers
  • Ability to interface with technical and engineering personnel in order to discuss technical issues pertaining to problems, purchases or technical specifications.
  • On-call availability.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand/power tools, and climbing of ladders.
  • Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
  • Travel is required.

 

Preferred

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science.
  • 3+ Years managing MS O365

 

Education, Certifications and/or Experience

  • High School diploma
  • 3+ years of experience installing, managing and supporting Windows Servers and services.

 

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations.
