With team members across the US, the Marketing and Communications team at LEARFIELD is a new organization bringing together several growth engines for the company.  We tell our story in compelling and relevant ways to our various constituents which include marketing leaders and brand sponsors, university athletic departments, and internal employee groups.  We connect brands to fans and bring our partners leading technology, data analytics, and media products, all with a rich legacy and deep understanding of sports, events, and entertainment.

The Field Marketing Specialist plays a critical role in driving revenue for the organization.  Their primary responsibility is working side-by-side with regional sellers and account managers to develop customized partnership concepts, platforms and pitches based on brands’ college sports objectives. This position will require creativity, collaboration, strong verbal and written communication skills, and thoughtful partnership strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop compelling marketing strategies and concepts for partners and prospects
  • Understand and synthesize brand insights and objectives gained from colleagues and/or client meetings to aid in the development of the approach and rationale for partnership
  • Analyze a brand’s marketing efforts in order to identify and create activation platforms that drive results against their objectives
  • Provide a recommended strategic direction, and develop a thoughtful sales narrative/storyline, for partners and prospect pitches.
  • Collaborate with research to support your ideas with relevant data and insights
  • Develop compelling sales materials with the graphics team to bring your ideas to life internally and externally
  • Participate in external sales meetings and pitches.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1+ years of experience in marketing or strategy roles
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, as well as meet or exceed deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Managing obstacles – reacting to and overcoming problems or objections by offering solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Suite computer skills. Photoshop proficiency a plus
  • Experience and interest in the collegiate sports marketplace is a plus
  • Digital/social media experience preferred
