Job Functions:

  • Provides advice, assistance and leadership into designs, documents, communicates, and enforces network standards, policies and procedures for standardizing network assets.
  • Participates in network architecture reviews.
  • Performs detailed designs of new or changing network infrastructure.
  • Installs, configures, maintains, and replaces network hardware and software.
  • Conducts multiple levels of testing prior to release of new and upgraded network systems, products or services.
  • Performs root cause analysis, resolves problems and recommends solutions.
  • Establishes guidelines and standards for capacity management review and establishes standards for network operations.
  • Monitors and plans capacity of all network infrastructures, devices and data circuits to plan or future growth.
  • Analyzes system performance and performs preventative networks maintenance to provide availability according to operating level agreements.
  • Works towards providing a fully redundant high availability infrastructure at all times.
  • Performs monitoring, alerting, reporting, and trending of network and telecom systems.
  • Performs business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
  • Develops automation scripts and programs to streamline manual operations and reduce manpower requirement in maintenance and monitoring activities.
  • Performs troubleshooting and issue resolution and escalate issues to appropriate 3rd party vendor if needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Take responsibility for network installation projects.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of installations and ensures that appropriate recommendations for change are made.
  • Analyze service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability.
  • Validate that services and components meet and continue to meet all of their agreed performance targets and service levels.
  • Implement arrangements for disaster recovery and documents recovery procedures.
  • Validate that service delivery meets agreed service levels.
  • Diagnose service delivery problems and initiate actions to maintain or improve levels of service.
  • Establish and maintain operational methods, procedures and facilities in assigned area of responsibility and reviews them regularly for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Draft and maintain procedures and documentation for network support.

What to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Professional Certifications are a bonus but not required (CCNA, CCNP)
  • Working expertise with load balancers (F5 Networks) and Citrix Netscalers
  • Strong expertise with routing and switching technologies – Deep knowledge of Cisco
  • Working expertise in network device monitoring and capacity planning
  • Working knowledge of security strategies and practices
  • Working knowledge/experience with Cisco Nexus (N9K or newer) and Cisco routing protocols including BGP Catalyst Switches
  • Experience with Meraki wireless network infrastructures
  • Demonstrated expertise in network assessment, design, and documentation, along with network management platforms (e.g. SNMPv1/2c/3, RANCID) and identityrepository and policy engines (e.g. Cisco Identity Services Engine).
  • Experience Cisco ASR and ISR routers.
  • General Knowledge of cloud architecture and operations with AWS.
  • Experience working in SaaS environments is preferred.

Strong understanding of network security technologies, their operation and limitations, including:

Firewalls (Palo Alto and ASA)
Network IDS/IPS Solutions
Switch/Router ACLs
IPSec and TLS -based VPNs
