Learfield Amplify brings decades of expertise to its partners helping fill stadiums, improving the fan experience, and driving revenue with three critical services: Ticketing, Development, and Seating. This Senior Accountant role helps support the business with timely and useful financial information. The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining and analyzing the general ledger, in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position can be located in Plano, TX, Jefferson City, MO or Winston-Salem, NC. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain, reconcile, and analyze general ledger account activity in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company accounting policies
  • Understand and apply financial accounting principles especially related to revenue recognition
  • Review client and vendor contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment
  • Review and provide general ledger coding for vendor invoices and payment requests
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in support of monthly close processes, primarily with respect to calculating and recording revenue, partner revenue share expenses, sales commissions, and other expense accruals
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and ad hoc analyses as needed
  • Serve as a primary financial contact for the business, acting as a liaison as needed with the corporate accounting team
  • Manage relationships with sales teams, ranging from senior leadership to 35+ sales managers
  • Organize and manage information from multiple sources
  • Assist with external and internal financial audits
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Proficient in Excel, experience with accounting ERP software
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, troubleshooting abilities, strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate accounting concepts to non-financial individuals
  • Flexibility when handling various assignments
  • Positive attitude and good customer service; team player and ability to work independently
