Payroll Coordinator

This position is integral to the Human Resources team and will be responsible for activities of the payroll function.  This position will collaborate with various groups throughout the organization including, the broader HR team, accounting / finance, and employees/managers.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enters payroll data in computerized payroll systems
  • Under general supervision, prepares, documents and processes payroll
  • Checks to ensure deductions and adjustments are applied correctly
  • Assists with employee routine paychecks by compiling and computing wages, deductions, and other payroll data
  • Distributes and collects timecards each pay period
  • Answers routine questions from employees and managers regarding payroll matters
  • Identifies problems and relevant issues, assesses using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions. May escalate more complex issues to management
  • Assists Accounting/Finance departments with payroll-related tasks and projects
  • Completes special projects and others duties as assigned
  • Assist with another employee to complete some office duties for the Jefferson City office

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional work experience supporting and administering payroll processes
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Must have a genuine interest in learning, understanding and empathizing with the needs of the organization’s leadership and staff
  • Experience working with Payroll systems and tools
  • A passion for serving people
  • Ability to work and maintain confidential information as private and sign a Confidentiality Agreement
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
