Learfield manages ad operations for more than 1,400 website and mobile applications across its vast network of university, conference, and association partnerships. This position will be a member of the Ad Operations team assisting Learfield’s local and national sales team in the optimization and growth of display/video ad revenue through programmatic and data-driven solutions.

The Manager, Programmatic will help lead the strategy, implementation, and day to day operations of our programmatic ad tech stack. This position will also play a key role supporting internal sales teams with our programmatic direct offerings across our portfolio of websites & apps.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to help set the direction of the programmatic ad tech stack across our portfolio of websites and apps (header bidding, SSPs, etc.)
  • Maximize performance of all programmatic revenue across websites & apps to deliver upon annual revenue targets
  • Assist in managing programmatic sales partnerships with sponsors, advertisers, and agencies, helping to foster deeper relationships centered around programmatic direct and data-driven solutions
  • Implement and lead all operational elements around programmatic direct transactions (preferred deals, private auctions, and programmatic guaranteed)
  • Oversee setup and day-to-day management of supply side platform partnerships
  • Provide guidance on programmatic yield management & price floor strategies
  • Manage programmatic creative blocking within ad tech platforms (SSPs/Ad Server)
  • Assist with the vetting and implementation of universal ID solutions to aid in programmatic offerings
  • Surface insights & recommendations relative to optimizing and growing our programmatic business

 

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience within digital advertising, programmatic, data products, yield management, with either a publisher, ad agency, or ad tech vendor
  • Strong analytics background, curiosity, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Google Ad Manager and Supply Side Partners (e.g. Index Exchange, Xandr, Sovrn, Amazon, Magnite, Pubmatic, etc.)
  • Experience vetting and onboarding new programmatic partnerships
  • Well versed and up to date with the state of programmatic advertising (header bidding/SSPs) and data-driven trends (universal IDs, cohorts)
  • Experience managing programmatic campaigns through programmatic direct sales channels (preferred deals, private auctions, programmatic guaranteed)
  • Maintain a high level of efficiency and quality assurance for competing projects
  • Displays strong communication skills and has ability to clearly and confidently provide strategic guidance when working with individuals who may not have a strong digital background
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while managing obstacles and overcoming problems
