We are actively accepting applications for an Manager of Mobile App Development to join our team.  In this role, you’ll focus on developing and supporting the SIDEARM mobile platform.

Responsibilities:

What you’ll be doing is managing, leading, and mentoring an experienced team of mobile app developers. You will also serve as lead developer in building and maintaining large scale, public-facing mobile application products serving hundreds of clients and thousands of fans.  This job is an opportunity to lead the innovation and evolution of an industry-leading apps focused on college athletics. SIDEARM apps are regularly present in the Top 100 Sports apps in Apple’s App Store.

The Manager of Mobile App Development is a multi-faceted leader and talented developer who is ready to take their skills to the next level. 

  • Leads the architecture and development of well-tested, high performing, and scalable cross-platform, hybrid, and native mobile applications.
  • Responsible for establishing, planning and communicating development standards and practices.
  • Makes decisions and provides recommendations regarding the mobile application technology stack, new designs, integrations, features, architecture, and infrastructure
  • Collaborates with the VP of Web Development, Product Team, Project Management, and others to continuously improve and refine the mobile application development process from concept through deployment and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work with product managers, project managers, stakeholders, and partners to ensure the successful execution of product vision, strategy, roadmaps, feature requests, bug fixes and client integrations. 
  • Hires, mentors, and coaches the team ensuring each employee is staying current on new technologies and best practices and incorporating this knowledge into their daily work. 
  • Meets with stakeholders, partners and key constituents when needed to evaluate requests, integrations, and custom projects.
  • Conducts code reviews, crafts, and reviews documentation, and works with Quality Assurance to ensure coding best practices and quality standards are met.
  • Successfully crafts unit and UI tests to identify issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4-6 years of software development experience including 2-3 years of mobile application development experience
  • Deep experience with native development for both IOS and Android
  • Expert knowledge of modern PWA frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
  • Working knowledge of the .NET Application Development framework, specifically C# / .NET Core
  • Experience with SCRUM, Kanban, or other modern agile development methodology
  • Excellent work ethic, strong leadership skills and excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills

We’ll be extra impressed if you have:

  • Proven success publishing apps with Ionic framework
  • Proven experience writing native plugins for Ionic framework
  • Proven experience integrating 3rd party SDKs
  • Proven experience developing mobile-first responsive web apps using UI/UX patterns for various device sizes
  • Proven experience using CI/CD tools and software pipelines
