The Insights (Research & Analytics) Specialist will support teams across LEARFIELD by providing research, data, and insights for various strategic purposes, including client sales presentations, corporate research projects, and various fan engagement initiatives. As part of the role, the Specialist will work closely with the Insights Manager, to identify areas of opportunity to assist Regional Insights Specialists on projects and requests.   

Job Duties:

  • Work alongside Regional Insights Specialists to provide insights & analytics to increase multimedia property revenue and support sales team endeavors
  • Complete research requests using 1st party and syndicated research resources to source and analyze data (including LEARFIELD’s proprietary Fanbase platform and various 3rd party data sources – Nielsen Scarborough, YouGov, Google Analytics, Conviva, etc.)
    • Utilize Excel to analyze data and create charts as graphical representations of the data
    • Prepare customized reports/infographics for sales teams based on client objectives and review research slides with Region Account Representative or sales team prior to presentation
    • Prepare presentation-ready slides in Presentation Platform, interfacing with internal Graphics team as necessary
  • Participate in proprietary survey development and execution
    • Create customized surveys for data development
    • Analyze and interpret survey data into research insights for presentations for sales team, internal departments, and Athletic Departments
  • Work on internal analytical projects alongside other Insights Team members to support research initiatives across the organization
  • Serve as a resource on sports sponsorship industry trends
    • Study market and industry trends and disseminate information to appropriate sales and marketing teams
    • Analyze data to identify internal and external industry trends, to better support future revenue-driving initiatives
  • Contribute to key projects led by Strategy & Insights Teams as assigned


A thorough understanding and knowledge of resources providing quality research & insights. Knowledge of sports sponsorship inventory and activation. Creative “know how” of telling a research and analytics story to increase property revenue. Ability to think critically about data/research and how it relates to the sponsorship sales process.


  • Bachelor’s degree in sports or business-related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a research/insights and/or data analysis role
  • High competency level on computer and software skills compatible with job responsibilities, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Great time management skills
  • Detail oriented individual with a high level of organization
  • Analytical mindset and strong critical thinking capabilities
  • Strong work ethic, with ability to manage numerous projects and deadlines
  • Professional conduct within and outside office while conducting agency business
