Fanbase is Learfield’s data and analytics platform that powers our strategic fan insights across the enterprise, leveraging cutting-edge analytics to unlock the next wave of growth in college sports. By aggregating data across ticketing, sponsorship, digital and social channels, commerce, and more, Fanbase helps Learfield and our school partners to better understand how fans engage with college athletics. In the Fanbase Research Analyst role, you will help drive meaningful fan insights, while adapting to changes in a constantly evolving data landscape. You will support key technical aspects of Fanbase to help ensure that this product is effectively aiding our teams and our school partners in better understanding how fans engage with college athletics. This includes researching, vetting, and analyzing new data sources for the Fanbase product as well as being the SME on publicly available data sources and syndicated resources. You will be working with a multitude of data sources and will play an integral role in the development of Fanbase products, services and overall product insights. Additionally, you will support the Fanbase Lead Product Analyst in executing the product roadmap. This includes but is not limited to developing and implementing new product features, coordinating product enhancements as well as implementing requirements and tasks during development sprints.

You will report to the Lead Product Analyst. The Fanbase team is part of Learfield’s corporate strategy group and is overseen by the Senior VP of Corporate Strategy & Development and Managing Director of Fanbase.  You will also work closely with the Product Manager of Fanbase, and the centralized Data, Insights, & Analytics team, as well as other executive leaders across our company.


  • Develop strategy and execution plan for market research opportunities within Fanbase platform
  • Evaluate additional data sources for inclusion in Fanbase platform
  • Project manage syndicated research reports
  • Assist development team with sprint tasks on an as needed basis
  • Handle outside requests for Fanbase analysis from client success and other nontechnical teams
  • Develop use cases for existing Fanbase product
  • Assist with requirement and task completion during development sprints



  • At least three years experience in related responsibilities/work
  • Experience in market research and/or product development
  • Experience in sports / media / entertainment and/or sponsorship is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with cluster modeling, affinity modeling, and/or marketing personas a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity and comfort utilizing data-driven software products
  • Strong knowledge of public data sources
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, social media data and/or Supermetrics is a plus, but not required
  • Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to take end-to-end responsibility on tasks
  • Must possess a high level of integrity and honesty
  • Ability to establish a deep understanding of clients concerns and thoughts regarding the use of products, and the ability to troubleshoot as needed
  • Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity, with high-level direction
