The Director, Social Media Content will be responsible for developing and managing the social media content strategy based on business objectives, social media content creation, and audience insights. They will oversee B2C content research and development with a hyper-focus on college fandoms and eSports. They will create content strategy deliverables and calendars across a project life-cycle on an ongoing basis and across different platforms and content types (Long-form, short-form, audio-only, graphics, etc.). They will also work to optimize delivery for branded content on behalf of the publisher, brand, platform and featured talent. 


This role location is flexible but ideally based in Winston Salem, Plano, or New York offices.



  • Manage B2C social media brands and oversee content distribution on all platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Twitch, TikTok, Podcasts)
  • Work with internal teams to develop and optimize programming for social consumption across all businesses
  • Identify potential brand ambassadors and produce social influencer campaigns to better engage and grow fandoms
  • Create engaging daily content offerings and campaigns for college sports and eSports fandoms
  • Oversee weekly and monthly channel analysis to ensure growth strategies meet or exceed benchmark expectations and monitor company KPIs, including but not limited to viewership, subscribers, and engagement
  • Oversee paid campaign executions
  • Identify gaps in programming and content, both platforms and formats

  • Coordinate with marketing and design teams to maximize visually promotion and follow platform best practices


  • Create style guides and best practices to use as reference and distribute to key internal partners

  • Conduct keyword and SEO research to understand audience’s needs

  • Follow industry-related news and generate thought starter ideas around trending topics

  • Review and provide content feedback driven by metrics to continue improving our content strategy

  • Collaborate with and educate creators, influencers, and talent as needed and serve as a resource to entire campaign team as the content expert/content advisor

  • Ensure quality of voice, tone, core messages, and CTAs

  • Perform competitive content research


  • At least 10 years of experience of experience in content strategy and/or content marketing, as well as integrated marketing campaigns

  • Proven work experience as a Content Strategist, Content Manager or similar role

  • Experience managing and leading a programming calendar and overseeing channels

  • Very familiar with content formats, social channels, streaming sites (like Twitch) and consumer analytics

  • Experience in project management is a plus

  • Familiarity with SEO guidelines and keyword research tools

  • Experience using social media to drive awareness and engagement

  • Solid writing and editing skills in English

  • Superior analytical skills in order to easily understand the audience and elicit its expectations

  • Led content creation and development of digital content experiences in last 3 years. (This is not a print-focused position.)
  • Advanced knowledge of SEO, user experience, as well as writing and editing for digital
