We are actively accepting applications for a DevOps Engineer to join our IT Services team.  In this role, you’ll focus on supporting our development staff and IT Services to ensure infrastructure reliability, staff productivity, overall security, and the functionality other IT services.

At SIDEARM, we operate a hybrid Infrastructure utilizing both dedicated and cloud environments to deliver high-availability and scalability for our products. Our software is implemented primarily in C# and ASP.NET. The DevOps Engineer will work directly with the Software Development, IT Services and QA teams to create and manage CI/CD pipelines, automation tools and strategies, and improve efficiencies through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Architect and assist with IT automation, monitoring efforts, centralized logging.
  • Optimize and maintain various cloud services
  • Develop, architect and maintain containerization strategies utilizing technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, etc.
  • Work directly with development team and QA testers to ensure coordinated releases.
  • Collaborate with and educate engineers on the proper use of build and source control systems.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Science, IT, or similar. MS a plus.
  • Solid Engineering and DevOps background
  • Experience enabling development lifecycle of products with regular updates and live operations.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS CodeBuild, Azure DevOps or similar technologies.
  • Strong experience with version control systems such as Git, Bitbucket, or other similar systems.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, AKS.
  • Experience with pipeline as code languages such as YAML or Jenkinsfile.
  • Experience with automated deployment using ARM, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with agile development processes.
  • Scripting skills utilizing bash, python, and/or PowerShell.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

You will impress us if you have:

  • Experience with C# 8+.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as NewRelic, Azure Monitor, Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Development experience using ASP.NET Web API 2.
  • Experience with log aggregators like Elastic Stack or Splunk.
  • Experience integrating monitoring systems with 3rd party team collaboration and messaging systems.
  • Experience in developing software for Windows Server and Linux
  • Fluency in writing and maintaining unit tests.

You'll sweep us off our feet if:

  • You have at least 8 years of experience in technology
  • You have hands-on experience with front-end and back-end software development rolling out applications for internal & external users.
  • You have experience in cloud-architecture and build. AWS experience is preferred
  • You are familiar with security protocols (preferred, but not required)
  • You can scale security practices (preferred, but not required)
  • You UX/UI design-oriented mindset (preferred, but not required)
  • You have architected complex solutions utilizing enterprise products and solutions
  • You have mentored junior resources
  • You have made a significant impact by influence in maturing development, build practices, DevOps mindset, & adding business value
  • You have the metrics-oriented mindset
