Learfield Amplify is looking to add a high impact team member who will serve as a Major Gift Officer as part of the Cal Athletics Fund team. In complete collaboration with the Cal Athletics Fund, this position will be committed through first class professionalism to grow philanthropic investment to support the goals of Cal Athletics and its student-athletes.

In this role you will work to achieve pre-defined KPIs centered around development activities and revenue for Cal Athletics. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Premium Sales & Development and work in collaboration with Cal Athletics Fund leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 100-125 major gift prospects, focusing on prospects rated at $100,000 and above 
  • Make at least 10-15 substantive contacts per month with an emphasis on quality personal visits (e.g. significant moves that advance a relationship)
  • Independently manage collaborative working relationships with fundraising colleagues in University Relations and campus schools and units to develop strategies for joint solicitations
  • Regularly conduct donor visits outside the office
  • Attend Cal Athletic events to engage with current and prospective donors
  • Travel as needed to visit current and prospective donors
  • Network at various community and corporate events including business after-hours, speaker series, etc.
  • Achieve and exceed annual revenue goals established by management
  • Achieve and exceed weekly activity and hustle metrics
  • Provide superior customer service to donors, prospects, and all fans of Cal Athletics
  • Work closely with the Cal Athletics Fund and Learfield Amplify National Director of Development to develop new ideas and new strategies toward fundraising initiatives and campaigns
  • Provide weekly revenue and activity reporting to Cal Athletics & Learfield National Director of Development

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of three (3) year experience working in sales or development; University or sports related development experience preferable but not required
  • Superior communication skills, collaborative with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics with strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in sales and building quality relationships
  • Strong desire to learn about our business and grow your professional career
  • Effectively express ideas verbally and in writing
  • Independently take action beyond what is called for
  • Be able to generate original and imaginative solutions to business opportunities
  • Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce.com, Microsoft CRM, etc
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours, including holidays and weekends as required
  • Willingness and ability to travel

 


Pay Transparency

The approximate base pay range for this position is $85,000 to $90,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Individuals will also be eligible to participate in the Amplify Management Compensation plan which includes the opportunity to earn up to 10% annual bonus and sales compensation. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience as well as geographic location.
