LEARFIELD is home to four statewide radio networks that provide news, sports and feature programming to radio stations throughout the Midwest, including: Minnesota News Network, Missourinet, Radio Iowa and Wisconsin Radio Network. It is also home to Brownfield, the oldest and largest agricultural radio network in the U.S. Our growing News & Ag team is seeking to hire an Affiliate Account Executive to our team in Jefferson City, MO. The Affiliate Account Executive will serve as the liaison between the networks and the local radio stations and will oversee affiliate strategy. This job can sit out of a multitude of areas, including: Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the affiliation process for 8 – 12 radio networks, functioning as the liaison between the networks and the local radio stations.
  • Travel to affiliate locations for prospect recruitment and affiliate retention
  • Develop and maintain ongoing prospects across all networks 
  • Negotiate deal points for affiliate contracts including revenue, inventory, term, etc.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal relationships and communications with network affiliates
  • Ensure affiliate compliance with network contract requirements
  • Increase affiliate clearance of network products
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

 

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Highly organized, able to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact proactively with staff and management across all levels and departments
  • Ability to take action when answers to problems are not readily apparent in equivocal circumstances
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction
  • Proven ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to travel as necessary
