STATESBORO, Ga. – Learfield, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Georgia Southern Athletics, announced today that Cam Brown has been elevated to General Manager of its locally-based team, Georgia Southern Sports Properties (GSSP).
As GM of Georgia Southern Sports Properties, Brown will serve as the primary Learfield liaison related to the university’s comprehensive athletics multimedia rights agreement and corporate partner platform. He will work closely with Director of Athletics Chris Davis and the entire athletics administration on all aspects of the relationship between Learfield and Georgia Southern Athletics, which is an enterprise-wide client utilizing Learfield’s licensed merchandise agency, CLC, digital ticket and marketing platform provider, Paciolan, digital solutions leader, SIDEARM Sports and stadium and arena seating solutions provider, Learfield Amplify.
Brown is a 4-year veteran of the GSSP team, joining the staff as a Manager of Business Development in 2021. His time is highlighted by playing an integral role in securing one of the first premium on-field logo placements in the nation, signing on The Sack Company as Georgia Southern’s first on-field logo sponsor with branding on Evans Family Field at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.
“We’re thrilled to have Cam moving into the General Manager role to lead our Georgia Southern Sports Properties team,” Davis said. “He has played a pivotal role in expanding our corporate partnership family, providing incremental value for our department and enhancing the fan experience for Eagle Nation, and I look forward to seeing the success he brings to the table in his new role.”
In addition to the groundbreaking partnership with The Sack Company, Brown played a key role in transformative partnerships with local logistics and coffee companies to land Georgia Southern Athletics a fully wrapped and branded equipment truck and trailer as well as a licensed and co-branded Official Coffee of the Eagles.
“We are excited to see Cam step into the General Manager role and continue the excellent work that Terry Harvin achieved with Georgia Southern Sports Properties,” said Pat Fagan, Senior Vice President of Sports Properties at Learfield. “In his four years with the property, Cam has proven to be immensely talented and is the ideal fit to lead the GSSP team. We look forward to continuing a close and successful relationship with Chris, Terry in his new role as Deputy Athletic Director, and the entire Georgia Southern Athletics team.”
Prior to joining the GSSP staff, Brown spent the previous year in Statesboro as a Territory Sales Manager for Yancey Brothers, managing and selling rental equipment across South Georgia.
“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunities and knowledge I’ve received working with Chris and my predecessor, Terry Harvin, and I can’t wait to continue working with them to deliver impactful partnerships on behalf of Eagle Nation and the passionate Georgia Southern community and fanbase,” said Brown. “Statesboro has become home to me, and I’m thrilled to become the General Manager of Georgia Southern Sports Properties right here at my alma mater.”
Originally hailing from Suwanee, Georgia, Brown graduated from Georgia Southern University in May of 2020, where he was also a 4-year letterwinner on the gridiron for the Eagles. His wife, Katie, is a 2022 GSU graduate and former member of the Georgia Southern Cheer team, and his father, Craig, is the Chief Financial Officer of Georgia Southern University.
