Renewed Agreement Includes Support for Gators Women’s Basketball and Donations to Ronald McDonald House through the Charity Stripe Campaign.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (November 22, 2024) – University of Florida Athletics and Meldon Law, the Official Injury and Accident Law Firm Partner of the Gators, have agreed to a multi-year extension of their partnership facilitated by Learfield’s Florida Gator Sports Properties, the media and technology company powering college athletics. As part of the expanded agreement, Meldon Law will serve as the presenting partner of the Florida Gators Women’s Basketball season and the team’s annual Charity Stripe campaign.

“Meldon Law has been a valued partner of the Gators since 2020,” said Scott Stricklin, Director of Athletics at the University of Florida. “Their expanded support, especially for UF’s Women’s Basketball program, underscores their commitment to both the Gator community and the state of Florida. We’re excited to continue growing this partnership and celebrate the success of our student-athletes across all sports.”

As the presenting partner of the Charity Stripe campaign, Meldon Law will contribute $19.71 for every free throw made by the Gators men’s and women’s basketball teams during home games throughout the 2024-2025 season. All donations will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida, which provides comfort, care, and resources to families with sick children and allowing them to stay close together near hospitals where their children are receiving treatment. The donation amount commemorates the year Meldon Law was founded and represents the firm’s long-standing tradition of giving back to the community.

This season marks the third year Meldon Law has supported a local organization through the Charity Stripe campaign with over $20,000 donated by the firm since the first free throw in 2022.  Fans can track the campaign’s progress and total donations via Meldon Law’s social media channels, with updates provided throughout the basketball season.

“We are proud of the opportunities our relationship with the Florida Gators provides us,” said Jeffrey Meldon, Founder of Meldon Law. “The Florida Gators have a long-standing tradition of excellence, and we are thrilled to support not only the teams but also the invaluable work of Ronald McDonald House Charities. For every free throw made, we’re making a positive impact on families who need it most.”

“We are excited to continue our partnership with Meldon Law and see their impact grow across Gator Athletics,” added Darren McPhail, General Manager of University of Florida Sports Properties. “Their expanded commitment to our women’s basketball program and the Charity Stripe campaign will help us make a lasting impact on and off the court.”

Florida Gators Sports Properties is the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Florida Athletics and oversees all sponsorship agreements on behalf of the Gators.
