5-part series documents 40 years of Huskies success under Geno Auriemma and Chris Dailey
STORRS, Conn. – UConn Athletics along with Learfield Studios and athletics multimedia rights holder UConn Sports Properties are excited to announce a new original digital content series titled Setting the Standard, presented by UConn Health.
Setting the Standard is a 5-part docuseries that tells the story of Head Coach Geno Auriemma and Associate Head Coach Chris Dailey’s 40 years at UConn and how they assembled each of their 11 National Championship winning teams.
Featuring exclusive interviews from coaches and players, the past comes to life from 1985, when Auriemma and Dailey were hired, to the present and the current state of women’s college basketball. Everyone knows what the standard is for UConn Women’s Basketball, and this is how it was set.
“As we get closer to our women’s basketball season tipping-off and the start of our season-long celebration of the 40th season for legendary coaches Geno Auriemma and Chris Dailey, we can’t wait for UConn Nation to see Setting the Standard,” said UConn Director of Athletics David Benedict. “The Learfield Studios team has put a tremendous amount of time and effort into this project and has produced a piece that will give fans a glimpse into how our coaches have redefined success and built an unmatched dynasty with the UConn women’s basketball program. I want to thank Learfield Studios for all of the incredible content through UConn+ that continues to allow us to tell our story.”
Following today’s trailer release, the debut episode premieres Tuesday, Oct. 22, with additional episodes airing on subsequent Tuesdays until the series finale on Nov. 19. Setting the Standard will be posted across all UConn Athletics social media platforms and episodes can also be viewed on digital streaming platform UConn+ at UConnPlus.tv.
