Growth in Women’s Sports

College women’s sports have been on an incredible rise in recent years, with a surge in popularity and interest from fans and athletes alike. From basketball to soccer to softball, women’s college sports have experienced meteoric growth; this season was no exception. A great example of activating on the growth and success in college women’s basketball was the phenomenon in Iowa with the Crossover at Kinnick.

Crossover at Kinnick Highlights

  • More than 55,000 fans attended the outdoor event, more than doubling the previous single-game NCAA record for women’s college basketball game
  • Many longtime sponsors had a presence inside Kinnick Stadium including DeWalt, Mediacom, Kum & Go, Hy-Vee, Nissan, Old Dominion, US Cellular and Coke.
  • Presenting sponsor of the landmark event was insurance provider State Farm who has long had a substantial foothold in the collegiate basketball space.
    – As part of the sponsorship, State Farm was also the presenting sponsor for a dynamic three-part series documenting the lead-up and execution of the event.
