USAA Bolsters Relationship with Army West Point in Support of Women’s Athletics
Partnership anchors new support of leadHER and Army’s Celebration of National Girls & Women in Sports Day

WEST POINT, N.Y.  – Longtime Army West Point Athletics supporter USAA has enhanced its 2023 relationship with additional focus on women’s athletics.

Most notably, USAA will serve as presenting sponsor of leadHER, an Army West Point Athletics’ year-round initiative that celebrates the fearless women who have made an everlasting impact on athletics at the United States Military Academy. The Army West Point Athletics Department hosts a variety of leadHER events throughout the year for West Point Cadets and the greater community.

As part of its broader leadHER commitment, USAA will be presenting sponsor of Army West Point’s 2023 celebration of today’s National Girls & Women in Sports Day. Army West Point will recognize this national event at its women’s basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 4 against Bucknell.

“USAA is a longtime supporter of the United States Military Academy and Army West Point Athletics, and we are excited to help elevate women’s athletics,” said Jen Escobar, USAA Senior Marketing Officer. “We are committed to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, and this partnership is an opportunity for USAA to further demonstrate its support for these women who will be future American leaders, as well as their families and the entire military community.”

“Army West Point Athletics is grateful for USAA’s longtime support of our athletics programming and we are thrilled to elevate this partnership to another level this year by specifically focusing on women’s athletics,” said Tricia Turley Brandenburg, Army West Point’s Executive Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator. “I want to thank USAA for partnering with us in 2023 on great programs and events highlighting women in athletics like leadHER and National Girls & Women in Sports Day.”

Other components of USAA’s elevated sponsorship this year include serving as presenting sponsor of Army West Point’s Women’s Leadership Conference and the Black Knights Awards. USAA also is involved with women’s basketball, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, and volleyball programs.

USAA’s integrated relationship with Army West Point Athletics is managed by LEARFIELD’s Army West Point Sports Properties, the Black Knights’ multimedia rightsholder. USAA now assumes additional sponsor designations, such as Proud Partner of Army West Point Women’s Athletics and Exclusive Financial Services/Insurance/Bank Partner of leadHER.
