First of 10 “Marquette Thursdays at Dave & Buster’s” Events with ESPN’s Jen Lada Tips Off December 1

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Marquette University Athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, LEARFIELD’s Marquette Sports Properties, announced a renewed relationship with Dave & Buster’s that also includes name, image and likeness (NIL) activation with the Golden Eagles’ men’s basketball program.

Anchoring the new sponsorship will be “Marquette Thursdays at Dave & Buster’s” – 10 events starting December 1 at the Dave & Buster’s location at 2201 N. Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa. Fans will have the opportunity to meet Golden Eagles’ student-athletes and Head Coach Shaka Smart from 6 – 7 p.m. at the first-of-its-kind NIL event series for men’s basketball.

“We’re thrilled to extend our overall sponsorship with Marquette Athletics and serve as host site for 10 ‘Marquette Thursdays at Dave & Buster’s’ during college basketball season,” said Linda Halopka-Ivery, general manager for the Dave & Buster’s in Wauwatosa. “I can’t think of a better way to tip off a new season in support of the Golden Eagles, and we are proud to continue to align our D&B brand with Marquette.”

Fans unable to attend the in-person events at the North Mayfair Road location can easily watch via Facebook Live. Marquette alumna Jen Lada – notable ESPN reporter and Sports Emmy Award winner – will host all 10 “Marquette Thursdays at Dave & Buster’s.” Fans can also tune in to the show on 94.5 ESPN Milwaukee, as well as through The Varsity Network app, which carries all game day broadcasts and other Marquette Athletics’ programming for free.

The 10 “Marquette Thursdays at Dave & Buster’s” events will be from 6 – 7 p.m. on the following dates during the season:

  • December (1, 15, 22)
  • January (5, 12, 26)
  • February (2, 16, 23)
  • March 2

“We appreciate Dave & Buster’s continued commitment to Marquette Athletics, and we’re excited about the unique fan event series we’ve put together in collaboration with D&B, Jen Lada and the athletics administration,” said Brad Harrison, general manager for Marquette Sports Properties, LEARFIELD’s local team dedicated to the Golden Eagles. “We’ve enjoyed talking with sponsors about how they can engage with student-athletes for authentic use of NIL and their marketing investment. There are many creative approaches to those connections, and we can’t wait to introduce fans to the new NIL event series at D&B starting December 1.”

The Golden Eagles’ men’s basketball team tips off tonight against Radford at Fiserv Forum at 7:30 p.m. CT. Fans can find the complete 2022-23 men’s basketball schedule and other information on the official athletics website, GoMarquette.com.
