Assumes Official Designation as “Approved NIL Collective Sponsor of Oklahoma Athletics”

In its continued quest to deliver the country’s most comprehensive and impactful NIL offerings, the 1Oklahoma Collective announced today that it has entered into a multi-year sponsorship agreement with LEARFIELD’s Sooner Sports Properties, the University of Oklahoma’s exclusive athletics multimedia rightsholder.

“This is a ground-breaking development for student-athletes who are interested in leveraging their Name, Image and Likeness to serve the community and make a difference for charitable causes throughout the State of Oklahoma,” said Scott Williams, Chief Executive Officer of the 1Oklahoma Collective. “As an ‘Approved NIL Collective Sponsor of Oklahoma Athletics,’ we offer student-athletes and area non-profits an unmatched opportunity to maximize the student-athlete’s NIL value while staying connected to OU’s national brand of excellence. This partnership, coupled with student-athletes making a tremendous difference in the community, is a win-win for everyone.”

1Oklahoma Collective is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to collaborating with and serving an expansive group of non-profits throughout the State of Oklahoma by leveraging the Name, Image and Likeness of OU student-athletes.

When Hall of Fame Coach Barry Switzer unveiled the 1Oklahoma Collective in April, he hailed the new non-profit organization as a game changer in the rapidly developing new world of NIL.

“We changed the game in 1981 at The University of Oklahoma by being a pioneer for schools to negotiate their own contracts and generate additional revenue,” said Switzer. “We are changing the game again with 1Oklahoma Collective.”

Williams said the 1Oklahoma Collective is living up to Coach Switzer’s praise with the newly signed deal. “The 1Oklahoma Collective’s NIL offerings are the most comprehensive in the country. Now that we are an ‘Approved NIL Collective Sponsor of Oklahoma Athletics’, student-athletes and the non-profits they promote will benefit from greater visibility and awareness.”

Through its sponsorship with Sooner Sports Properties, 1Oklahoma Collective will receive brand visibility across numerous official OU platforms. Notably, this agreement is separate from any activity related to funds associated with 1Oklahoma Collective that may be allocated to student-athletes as part of NIL opportunities.

“We welcome 1Oklahoma Collective to the Sooners’ corporate partner family and appreciate their support of OU’s athletics programming and hundreds of student-athletes,” said Kelly Collyar, Vice President and General Manager for Sooner Sports Properties. “We have the distinct opportunity to align businesses with OU, and in turn, align our brand sponsors to student-athletes to maximize value for all stakeholders in this new NIL era. It’s been an exciting new world in college athletics, and the University of Oklahoma has certainly embraced it and leaned in on every aspect.”

1Oklahoma Collective has already begun the process of partnering with student-athletes and non-profits, receiving an overwhelming positive response. 1Oklahoma Collective is excited for alumni, donors, and those passionate about OU sports and making a difference in the community to partner alongside the collective through generous donations and volunteer service.

Williams said any student-athletes or non-profit organizations interested in participating should visit 1Oklahoma.com to sign up for updates.
