NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Athletics and LEARFIELD’s Redbird Sports Properties have agreed to a new five-year agreement with WJBC AM 1230 and 93.7 NASH Icon.
“All of us at Illinois State Athletics are excited to continue our relationship with WJBC to broadcast football and basketball games to our loyal Redbird fans,” Illinois State Director of Athletics Kyle Brennan said. “The relationship between ISU Athletics and WJBC is one that has thrived for almost 90 years, and we look forward to continuing to bring exciting broadcasts and shows to our fans in the Bloomington-Normal community, throughout the Midwest and across the country. With the addition of The Varsity Network app, our games can now be heard anywhere, and our hope is that Redbird fans will tune in and support our student-athletes and coaches when they can’t be in the stands themselves.”
As the flagship radio stations to the Illinois State Athletics Department, WJBC AM 1230 and 93.7 NASH Icon will provide live clearance of all Redbird football and men’s basketball games in the greater Bloomington-Normal area. In addition, fans will hear all ISU women’s basketball game broadcasts and football and basketball coaches’ shows on WJBC AM 1230. All games and coaches shows will also be available on The Varsity Network app.

The extended relationship between Illinois State Athletics and Radio Bloomington-Cumulus is managed by LEARFIELD’s local Redbird Sports Properties team, which oversees all aspects related to Illinois State Athletics’ multi-media rights, including the Redbird Sports Network.
