PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College Athletics announced today a renewed and enhanced sponsorship agreement with Rhode Island Medical Imaging (RIMI), enabling RIMI to assume the designation of “Official Imaging Provider of Providence College Athletics.”
As part of its extended multi-year relationship with the Friars, RIMI will be the presenting sponsor for the “Pinkout Friartown” men’s basketball game on Feb. 15, 2022, when Providence hosts Villanova at 8 p.m. ET. Additionally, RIMI will serve as game sponsor for the annual “Pink Out’ men’s hockey game on February 25, 2022 vs Maine.
“Rhode Island Medical Imaging is proud to now be the Official Imaging Provider of Providence College Athletics,” said Dr. John Pezzullo, RIMI’s president. “RIMI values the trust PC has put in us. No matter the sport, all of Providence College’s student-athletes deserve the very best in imaging care. RIMI will continuously strive to keep them at the top of their game.”
RIMI will receive visibility through Friars’ official social media channels, radio game broadcasts, and via LED signage, team chairbacks and hoop stanchions inside Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The extended agreement with RIMI was secured by LEARFIELD’s Providence Friars Sports Properties, which represents the Friars’ multimedia rights and manages the corporate partner platform.

Rhode Island Medical Imaging has a network of 12 private state-of-the-art medical diagnostic imaging facilities that are staffed by over 80 board certified radiologists with broad-based experience and subspecialty training. RIMI is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) including being the first and only outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence in Rhode Island. RIMI is also an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence with its newest comprehensive centers in Johnston and East Greenwich.
RIMI radiologists perform and interpret imaging in Rhode Island at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Kent Hospital, Miriam Hospital, Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, Roger Williams Medical Center and Women & Infants Hospital, as well as at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Mass. Most of RIMI’s radiologists are also faculty members at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
