DURHAM – Duke University Athletics and Blue Devil Sports Properties from LEARFIELD have signed a multi-year extension with Capitol Broadcasting as the long-standing radio home of Duke Athletics.

Buzz Sports Radio, heard in Raleigh on 99.3FM/620AM and in Durham on 96.5FM/620AM and 99.9HD2, continues as the flagship network for the Blue Devils to headline a list of nearly 50 affiliates across the Carolinas.

“We are committed to covering our local teams and Duke University has been one of the pillars of our coverage for nearly 50 years and counting,” said Brian Maloney, vice president, radio division for Capitol Broadcasting. “Duke leads one of the most competitive athletic programs in the Triangle and the nation. We couldn’t be more please to carry on the tradition of providing sports fans coverage of Duke Athletics.”

As a part of the new agreement, coverage of all home football and men’s basketball games will be expanded to begin 90 minutes prior to kickoff or tipoff. In both Durham and Raleigh fans can also stream the games at WRALSportsFan.com or on the WRALSportsFan app.

“Capitol Broadcasting has been an amazing partner with Duke Athletics and this extension as our flagship station is just another example of the relationship,” said Mike Sobb, Duke associate athletics director for resource acquisition. “We are so pleased to move forward with them for years to come and appreciate the leadership of Brian Maloney and the entire Capitol family.”
