OMAHA, Neb.  – Matt Wright has been promoted to general manager for Omaha Sports Properties, as announced today by the University of Nebraska Omaha’s multimedia rightsholder, LEARFIELD.

Wright, the property’s former senior manager, business development, has worked in college multimedia rights and sponsorship sales for nearly 10 years. Prior to joining LEARFIELD’s multimedia rights team representing UNO Athletics in 2019, he was general manager for the company’s local team at South Dakota State. Wright also previously served with the local athletics multimedia rights teams dedicated to Washington State and University of Nebraska-Lincoln, his alma mater. He holds a master’s degree in Sport Management from Minnesota State University in Mankato.

As general manager for Omaha Sports Properties, LEARFIELD’s local team solely dedicated to the Mavericks, Wright will work closely with interim Athletic Director Mike Kemp and UNO’s entire athletics administration.

“We have enjoyed working with Matt in his previous role of senior manager for Omaha Sports Properties and are thrilled that he was selected to be the next general manager for the property,” said Kemp. “Matt’s vision for building corporate partnerships with our athletic department aligns with ours. He will enhance our in-game experiences through these partnerships, creating an even more exciting atmosphere for our fans at all of our competition venues.”

“Matt is incredibly knowledgeable about this industry and region, and helping businesses best understand how to build impactful partnerships with the Mavs,” said LEARFIELD Vice President, Multi-Media Rights, Central Region Bob Welch. “We’re pleased to elevate Matt to the GM chair and know he’ll continue to succeed in connecting area businesses with UNO’s passionate fanbase.”
