Fresno State Athletics and iHeartMedia team up to expand Bulldogs’ broadcast exposure

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State Athletics and iHeartMedia have teamed up to further amplify the reach of the Bulldogs’ brand throughout the Golden State and around the world.

iHeartMedia will become the official broadcast home of Fresno State Athletics via the new Bulldogs Sports Network, effective July 1.

The Bulldog Sports Network will reach fans from Sacramento to Bakersfield with various terrestrial radio signals, digitally statewide with the iHeartRadio mobile app, and around the world via the Fresno State Bulldogs official app, presented by Table Mountain Casino.

“We are excited to partner with iHeartMedia to bring the Bulldog Sports Network to our passionate Red Wave fan base throughout the Valley and far beyond,” Fresno State Director of Athletics Terry Tumey said. “iHeartMedia is well regarded as a world renowned media company that will further enhance our ability to advance the Fresno State brand, engage our longtime fans, and reach new audiences.”

Live games will be carried on the radio for football, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball. In addition to live game action, the Bulldog Sports Network will host regular coaches and highlight shows throughout the year, which will be aired live on select channels, as well as carried on a podcast channel accessible through both the iHeartRadio and Fresno State Bulldogs app.

The two dynamic brands will continue to develop new podcast and live content featuring coaches, student-athletes, and other key Fresno State contributors across the full iHeartMedia cluster of stations up and down the Valley, including B95, 102.7 The Wolf, 103.7 The Beat and other stations. This partnership will keep Fresno State Athletics front and center with fans and partners 365 days of the year.
Additional elements will include in-stadium support from the iHeartMedia team, tailgate exposure, and Fresno State Fridays across the entire iHeartMedia station group.

“This exciting new partnership between iHeartMedia and Fresno State Athletics is a huge win for Bulldog fans up and down the valley,” said Steve Darnell, iHeartMedia Area President. “In addition to airing live game action, our iHeartMedia influencers will create exciting audio, digital, social, and podcast content to enhance the Bulldog Sports Network across all of our Central California iHeartMedia station brands.”

The relationship with iHeartMedia will be managed by Bulldog Sports Properties (BSP), Fresno State Athletics’ exclusive multimedia rights holder. In addition to traditional commercials, corporate partners will be able to integrate their brand across the entire Bulldog Sports experience – including signage, a robust digital reach outside the stadium, hospitality and experiential opportunities. It will allow partners to work seamlessly across all channels, creating greater synergy in supporting the mission of the Athletics department.

“We can’t wait to bring the passion of Fresno State to more fans in additional markets, and to expand opportunities for our sponsors including visibility within the iHeartMedia family,” said Zachary Fraser, general manager of Bulldog Sports Properties. “I’m looking forward to working with iHeartMedia and know its powerful digital connections will strengthen the connection to the existing fan base, while reaching a new generation of fans ready to be part of the Red Wave.”
