COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M University and H-E-B announce a new Campus+ partnership, opening the door for customers to receive grocery deliveries on campus.

People who live on campus can visit www.heb.com or use the H-E-B app to choose from eight dedicated delivery zones and receive grocery orders to their doorsteps for a $5 fee. Plus, curbside pickup is now free.

“H-E-B’s Curbside and Home Delivery is a favorite throughout the state, making shopping on the go more convenient than ever,” said Lacey Dalcour Salas, H-E-B public affairs manager. “By using the My H-E-B app or shopping online, H-E-B’s personal shoppers will hand pick your grocery selections and deliver to you curbside, doorstep and on campus at your scheduled time.”

The campus delivery option is available to all Texas A&M students, faculty and staff on the College Station main and West campuses.

“H-E-B is an iconic Texas brand and has been a long-standing partner of Texas A&M University,” said Shane Hinckley, vice president of Brand Development at Texas A&M. “We’re excited to expand our relationship to include Campus+, which allows us to bring unique services and experiences to the Aggie community, such as campus deliveries.”

H-E-B has been partnered with Texas A&M Athletics since the 2005-06 school year, serving as the “Official Tailgate Headquarters” for football. Given last year’s pandemic, H-E-B officials said they updated their designation to the “Official Grilling Zone” to meet Aggie fans’ Gameday grilling needs.

A native Texas company, H-E-B was started in 1905 when Florence Butt opened the C.C. Butt Grocery Store in Kerrville. In the 1920s, her son Howard E. Butt took over the business, expanding to Del Rio and Laredo. The company opened its first supermarkets in the 1950s and by 2003, H-E-B ranked 10th in the nation among privately held companies based on $11 billion in annual sales. Headquartered in San Antonio, today H-E-B operates more than 400 stores throughout Texas and in northeast Mexico. In 2020, the company reported $28 billion in annual sales.

H-E-B is known throughout the state for its philanthropic efforts, especially in times of crisis. During the pandemic, the company has donated $3 million to support local organizations and when Hurricane Harvey hit the state, H-E-B donated thousands of meals, water bottles and ice, in addition to more than $3 million to relief efforts.

During the historic winter storm earlier this year that left millions of Texans without power and water in freezing temperatures, H-E-B had to shutter some stores, but others remained open to meet the often desperate needs of customers. In the storm’s wake, the company delivered truckloads of food and water to food banks.
