“Liberty, Justice and Ball” featuring Grant Hill Available April 1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the launch of its new podcast series Liberty, Justice and Ball – a podcast exploring the intersection of basketball and social justice.

The podcast will be hosted by a unique team from Springfield College, where basketball was invented. Kris Rhim and Marty Dobrow bring their varying perspectives as a 21-year-old Black student and 60-year-old white professor respectively. They share a passion for hoops and social justice and will be exploring the experiences and viewpoints of Hall of Famers tied to both topics.

“The Hall is proud to promote and preserve the game of basketball at every level and while we’ve preserved numerous artifacts and captured many anecdotes of the game, we also know there are countless stories tied to social justice that deserve to be told by our Hall of Famers,” said John Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. “Through this podcast with local partner Springfield College, we look forward to offering a platform that allows these celebrated athletes and outstanding people to share their stories, perspectives and hopes for the future of social justice in America.”

The first episode of Liberty, Justice and Ball will feature Grant Hill, Vice Chairman of the Atlanta Hawks and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, and will be available Thursday, April 1 at noon ET.Additional episodes will be released every two weeks with guests such as Cynthia Cooper, Bob Cousy, Chris Mullin, Jerry West and Lenny Wilkins.
