CLEVELAND – In these unprecedented times with the cancellation of the NCAA winter/spring championships, NAIA winter/spring championships and the junior/community college winter/spring championships, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Board of Directors today voted to cancel the 2019-20 Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup.
“The Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup program is one of our premier institutional award initiatives, so fairness is essential when evaluating scores. With the cancellation of some winter and all spring championships, it did not seem just to award champions for the year based solely off the fall standings. While we are disappointed we will not be able to crown champions across the five divisions this year, we look forward to reinstating the Directors’ Cup program for the next full athletics season,” stated NACDA CEO Bob Vecchione.
Both NACDA and Learfield IMG College look forward to recognizing the winning institutions with the crowning achievement in college sports in 2020-21.
