HOUSTON – Learfield IMG College has appointed 30-year sports industry veteran Micah Fuller as general manager to lead its two on-campus teams in the Greater Houston area dedicated to representing the Houston Cougars and the Rice Owls respectively.
Former sponsorship and business development lead for Harris County-Houston Sports Authority, Fuller will oversee all operational and personnel aspects for both the Houston Cougars Sports Properties and Rice Sports Properties teams. Learfield IMG College is the exclusive athletics multimedia rightsholder for both universities, with its local teams working side-by-side with the respective athletic administrations fulfilling their comprehensive rights agreements. Fuller’s predecessor Clay Harris recently joined Texas A&M Ventures as general manager, also a Learfield IMG College property.
Before relocating to Houston, Fuller previously served as associate athletic director for California Baptist University in Riverside. He also spent nearly 11 years as senior vice president of sales for Urban Sports & Entertainment Group overseeing development, management and sponsorship sales for collegiate conference events and football and basketball championships. Additionally, Fuller served nearly eight years with NASCAR Media Group in Charlotte, N.C., where he was vice president, sales and programming. He got his career start with the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets as assistant public relations director.
