SFA ATHLETICS ANNOUNCES RELATIONSHIP WITH LEARFIELD IMG COLLEGE TICKET SOLUTIONS
Students of the Sports Business Program in Nelson Rusche College of Business to Learn Real-World Experiences in Sales and Client Service Through New On-Campus Ticket Solutions Team
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin State University has selected Learfield IMG College Ticket Solutions for representation of its outbound ticket sales, as announced today by SFA Director of Athletics Ryan Ivey and Learfield IMG College Ticket & Seat Solutions Executive Vice President Jake Bye.
“We are excited to work with Learfield IMG College Ticket Solutions,” said Ivey. “This relationship will allow us to take another step in offering our passionate and loyal fan base unique and affordable opportunities to support our department. Increasing self-generated revenues is a critical component in our ability to support our student-athletes. This marks another step in achieving our vision of becoming the leading mid-major athletics department in the nation.”
SFA Athletics’ multi-year relationship with Learfield IMG College Ticket Solutions is aimed to give ‘Jacks fans and donors across the nation an even better opportunity to experience game day in Nacogdoches through customized group outings. Youth sports teams, civic organizations, businesses, and many other organizations can take part in exclusive game day experiences, providing fans unparalleled access to SFA Athletics.

Complementing this relationship, SFA Athletics and Learfield IMG College Ticket Solutions will work closely with the nationally renowned Sports Business Program of the Nelson Rusche College of Business. Through this collaboration, students will gain access to real-world experience in sales and customer service.
“We’re thrilled our sports business students will have the opportunity to be engaged with the athletics department and on-campus Learfield IMG College Ticket Solutions team – to enhance their learning experience and understanding of best practices in sales, service and customer rapport,” said Dr. Jason Reese, associate professor of marketing for the Nelson Rusche College of Business. “It will help give our students an atmosphere where they can better develop marketable skills as they learn how to prospect clients, make sales presentations in person and over the phone, and overcome client objections. It should be a terrific experience for each of them.”
Dr. Reese added, “As we focus on helping our students prepare for challenges within the industry, and just knowing the overall sports world better on all levels, this is another advantage. At SFA, our overarching goal is to create transformative experiences for our students, and we’re excited about how this partnership will provide an even stronger transformative learning experience for students in the SFA Athletics Call Center.“
One of the Southland Conference’s premier academic and athletics institutions, SFA sponsors 18 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports and has captured 92 Southland regular season titles since it joined the league 32 years ago.
Learfield IMG College Ticket Solutions represents 45 partners nationally and has 170 on-site sales personnel dedicated to their respective relationships. In addition to representing collegiate institutions and conferences, Ticket Solutions also announced its first on-site sales team in professional sports through a multi-year comprehensive relationship with the Indy Eleven.
