MINNEAPOLIS – University of Minnesota Athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, Learfield IMG College’s Gopher Sports Properties, announced today that Radio Mankato’s KXLP Classic Rock 94.1 and 105.9 stations will air Golden Gopher football broadcasts for the 2019 season. This allows Radio Mankato to continue bringing Gopher football to fans in the greater Mankato area and surrounding communities. Learfield IMG College oversees all aspects of the radio network on behalf of the university.
“The Mankato area is extremely important to our football program, so we’re thrilled to have a new, elite radio home in southern Minnesota for our loyal fans,” said Golden Gopher head football coach P.J. Fleck.
“We couldn’t be more pleased and excited to be airing Gopher football broadcasts for all of us fans in the Mankato listening area,” said Matt Ketelsen of Subarctic Media. “The passion for college football is strong, and we’re honored to have our stations as the football flagship for Gopher football in our community.”
In addition to tuning to Classic Rock 94.1 and 105.9 FM during football season for game broadcasts, fans can also catch Gopher Football Weekly with Head Coach P.J. Fleck on The Fan Mankato 1230 AM – 103.1 FM. The one-hour live show with the head football coach airs each week on Tuesdays, from Noon – 1 p.m. The Golden Gopher Daily Update – hosted by the Voice of the Golden Gophers Mike Grimm – will air daily, Monday – Friday, at 3:05 p.m. on KTOE AM 1420 and 102.7 FM and at 4:35 p.m. on KXLP Classic Rock 94.1 and 105.9 FM.
