BLACK KNIGHTS FOOTBALL CAN BE HEARD WORLDWIDE THIS SEASON

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point and its athletics multimedia rightsholder, Army West Point Sports Properties, announced a one-year agreement with The American Forces Network (AFN) to provide live radio game broadcasts of Black Knights’ football for the 2019 season.

The American Forces Radio and Television Service, through AFN, will provide a “touch of home” to authorized audiences and their immediate family members stationed in over 168 locations around the world. AFN marks the newest affiliate added to the Army Sports Network, which now totals 17 stations for reaching fans.

“The American Forces Network Radio is proud to partner with Learfield IMG College and its Army West Point Sports Properties team,” said Scott Stover, Chief, TV and Radio, AFN Broadcast Center. “It’s an honor to bring US Military Academy football to soldiers serving overseas on the AFN FANS channel via AFN satellite decoder and streaming on the AFN360 app.”  “Whenever we sign on for Army Football broadcasts, we welcome Black Knights fans throughout the Hudson Valley, across the nation and around the world,” said Rich DeMarco, Assistant Athletic Director/Broadcasting and Licensing and voice of the Black Knights. “It’s truly an honor to have this partnership between the Army Sports Network and American Forces Network, which will allow Army Football to be heard wherever service members are stationed.”

The 2019 Army West Point football games will be broadcast on AFN to authorized audiences and their immediate family members stationed with them in 168 countries around the world. The Black Knights open the season on August 30, playing host to the Rice Owls at 6:00 p.m.
