HANOVER, N.H. — Learfield recently appointed Mike MacConnell general manager for Big Green Sports Properties, its local staff dedicated to Dartmouth College. The collegiate marketer has been representing the Big Green since 2015, marking the first time the school outsourced its athletics multimedia rights.

MacConnell most recently served three years as general manager for Learfield’s Vermont Sports Properties at UVM, which also looked to Learfield as its first-ever athletics multimedia rights holder in school history. MacConnell not only was responsible for establishing the UVM Learfield operation in 2015, but built the Catamounts’ corporate partner platform as well. MacConnell is a seasoned sports marketer and sponsorship executive who now has worked in the Northeast for nearly 20 years. Prior to Learfield, he held management roles with Octagon, Acushnet and the NHL’s Boston Bruins. MacConnell received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and master’s degree from UMass, and he most recently served as chief marketing officer for Urban Rhino in Burlington, Vermont.

“Mike has done an outstanding job leading our Vermont property over the last several years, and we’re confident he’s the right individual to now lead our Dartmouth team and work alongside Harry and the entire athletics administration,” said Learfield Vice President Daryl Jasper.

A fully integrated sports marketing and solutions platform, Learfield manages multimedia rights and sponsorships for nearly 130 collegiate institutions, conferences and arenas. Through its family of solutions, Learfield provides access to professional concessions and ticket sales; branding, licensing and commerce management; digital and social expertise; campus-wide business and sponsorship development; and venue technology systems.
