Supermarket Retailer Signs on as Sponsor of UB Athletics for 2018 – 2019 School Year; Will Serve as Official Food Sponsor of Murchie Family Football Center Fueling Station

KEASBEY, N.J.  – With college football season officially kicked off, Price Rite Marketplace today announced an integrated relationship with University at Buffalo Athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, Learfield’s Bulls Sports Properties. Notably, throughout the 2018-19 school year, the supermarket retailer will serve as the official food sponsor of the new “Fueling Station” located inside the Murchie Family Football Center and tackle hunger locally in a season-long promotion in partnership with the UB Football team.

As “Fueling Station” sponsor, Price Rite will work with the UB Football program’s strength and conditioning coaches to provide healthy, high-protein snacks to help the student-athletes fuel up and recharge. Additionally, in a joint effort to tackle hunger in the local community, Price Rite will donate a “sack” of groceries filled with an assortment of nutritious perishable and nonperishable food items to New Beginnings Food Pantry operated by Amherst Baptist Church each time a member of the Bulls’ defense “sacks” the opposing quarterback. The promotion will run through the duration of the 2018 football season.

“We are proud to announce our sponsorship of University at Buffalo Athletics for the upcoming school year and look forward to becoming more involved with the tight-knit UB community,” said Jim Dorey, president of Price Rite Marketplace. “We’ll be providing the student-athletes with the fuel they need to play their best, and are excited to build upon our shared commitment to supporting the local community by aligning with University at Buffalo Athletics to combat the serious issue of food insecurity in the surrounding area.”

Price Rite Marketplace signage will be present in the “True Blue” student section of UB Stadium, Alumni Arena and on UBBulls.com, the University at Buffalo Athletics website, as part of its sponsorship package. The sponsorship will also be supported with a social media campaign run via the University at Buffalo Athletics Facebook page.
